“Empowering Learning and Community”
Hoke County Schools CTE
- Supporting HOSA Club
- Building Community
- Empowering Staff
At Hoke County Schools in North Carolina, the Perfecta® Series Poster Design System has proven to be a valuable resource across a variety of middle and high school CTE programs. Students have used this system to design impactful posters for Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) events, such as promoting initiatives like Anti-Bullying Month. It has also played a key role in promoting school events, including creating pricing sheets for Cosmetology and Barbering classes.
Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)
HOSA is a program focused on leadership development, motivation, and recognition for students in health science and biomedical science programs, or those interested in healthcare careers. Funded by a Health Science grant, the Perfecta® Series Poster Design System, paired with the Engage Every Learner® Content on the VariQuest Design Center, has become a vital resource for Hoke County Schools in supporting HOSA’s goals. The tools have not only promoted membership for the club, but have strengthened the program through visual supports where students can create their own presentation displays. From designing posters for regional competitions to boosting the club’s visibility, these resources have fostered a strong sense of unity and engagement for all members.
Building Community
The Perfecta® Series Poster Design System has also been utilized to showcase class rules and standards across general education classrooms, special education spaces, and throughout the entire school. This ensures students feel safe while creating an encouraging environment that motivates participation in events and programs throughout the year, helping to strengthen a sense of community and inclusivity. Teachers have incorporated the Perfecta® Series into a variety of middle and high school projects, improving learning outcomes and increasing student engagement.
Staff Engagement
A great example of the system’s impact comes from a Professional Learning Community (PLC) meeting, shared by Amanda Williams, Administrative Assistant at Hoke County Schools. During the session, educators learned to create motivational posters, demonstrating how the tools can engage both students and staff. With a little guidance and practice, teachers now are able to collaborate to create posters and display them throughout the school, inspiring students daily.

At Hoke County Schools, the difference made by the Perfecta® Series Poster Design System and our Engage Every Learner® Content is evident across the board. From strengthening clubs and academic programs to promoting team-building and providing essential support for both staff and students in the classroom and around the school, these tools create an environment where everyone feels confident and supported.
